Pipe Repair & Repiping

When to repair a pipe — and when to repipe the house

A large share of Los Angeles homes were built before 1970 with galvanized steel water pipe. Galvanized corrodes from the inside out: the inside diameter narrows with rust and scale, water pressure drops, water turns brown after sitting, and eventually the pipe starts leaking at the threads. Many homes from the late 1970s and 1980s also have polybutylene or thin-wall copper that is now reaching the end of its life.

For a single failed fitting or a damaged section, a targeted pipe repair is the right call. But when you're seeing repeated pinhole leaks, discolored water, or pressure that's low across the whole house, patching one leak at a time costs more over a few years than a repipe — and each leak risks water damage.

A whole-house repipe replaces every supply line with new copper or PEX-A. We plan routes through attics and walls to keep openings small, protect floors and furnishings, and patch access points when we're done. Most single-family repipes are completed within a few days, with water restored at the end of each work day.

Honest pricing

How much does pipe repair & repiping cost?

Every job is different, so we don't guess over the phone and then change the number on site. We look at the problem, then give you a written flat-rate price before any work starts. The price you approve is the price you pay — and it's the same at 3 a.m. on a Sunday as it is on a Tuesday afternoon.

What affects the price:

  • Size of the home and number of bathrooms and fixtures
  • Copper versus PEX-A materials
  • Single-story with attic access versus two-story or slab routing
  • Whether the main service line is replaced too

What homeowners say after the rescue.

Our reviews come from real emergencies — and how we handled them.

Emergency Sewer Backup
“We had a sewer backup on a Sunday night — our laundry room was completely flooded. I called Rooter Rescue at 9 PM and they had a tech at the door within 45 minutes. He cleared a major root intrusion in the main line and had everything flowing again by midnight. I couldn't believe the response time. They're the only plumber I'll ever call.”

Slab Leak Detection
“My water bill had been climbing for months and I couldn't figure out why. Rooter Rescue used electronic detection equipment to find a slab leak under my kitchen floor without ripping up a single tile — found it in under an hour. The repair was clean, fast, and came in exactly at the estimate. These guys are total pros.”

Water Heater Replacement
“My water heater died on a Friday morning. I called three plumbers — two couldn't get to me until next week. Rooter Rescue had a new unit installed that same afternoon. The tech explained every option clearly, gave me a fair price without any pressure, and left the work area cleaner than he found it. Five stars isn't enough.”

Both are solid choices. Copper is extremely durable and resists heat and UV. PEX-A is flexible, needs fewer fittings, handles freezing better, and often costs less to install. We'll walk you through both based on your water quality, house layout, and budget.
